Sharon K. Arnold, age 68, a resident of a JRDS Waiver Home at 1108 S. Meridian St., Portland, died Saturday at Jay County Hospital following an extended illness.
Sharon moved to Portland in 1998 upon the closing of New Castle State Developmental Center.
Sharon attended day programming at Jay-Randolph Developmental Center in Portland.
Sharon was born on July 1, 1939, in Columbus, Indiana, the daughter of Charles and Dorothy (Means) Arnold.

Funeral services for Sharon Arnold will be held on Wednesday at 5 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with Pastor Ken Frederickson officiating. Burial will take place on Thursday at 11 a.m. in Boggstown Cemetery in Shelby County, Indiana.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4-5 p.m. before the service in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Memorial may be directed towards the Jay-Randolph Developmental Center. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
