Frances Vivian Patterson Barkdull

Age 94, a resident of Crowne Point Assisted Living in Portland, IN, went to be with the Lord on Thursday afternoon, November 13th, in the Persimmon Ridge Care Facility in Portland where she had been a resident for 9 days.

She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Church located on the Jay/Randolph County Line and had attended the Praise Chapel Church of New Pittsburg.  She had served as a high school Sunday school teacher and was a past president and member of the Ladies Aide Society of the church. She was a member and past president of the Pike Township Home Ed Club. She was also a volunteer at Portland Community Care.  She retired from Campbell Soup formerly of Saratoga, IN.
Frances Barkdull was born May 31, 1914 in Jay County, IN, the daughter of Oliver and Laura (Collins) Patterson.  She was married February 18, 1934 to William F. Barkdull.  He died April 12, 1998.  She is survived by:

  • Ronald L. Barkdull -  Magnolia, Texas
3 Daughters: 
  • Diane Prescott (husband Harry)- Union City, IN
  • Patricia A. Moore (husband Dick)-Rural Losantsville, IN
  • Joyce Clouse- Winchester, IN
13 Grandchildren
25 Great-grandchildren
1  Great-great grandson

Her son, Leslie Barkdull, 1 daughter-in-law and three granddaughters preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Frances Barkdull will be held Monday at 1 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home.  Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate and burial will be in the Reitenour Cemetery west of Deerfield, IN.
Friends may call at the Portland Chapel of the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home on Sunday from 1 – 5 p.m.  Memorials may be directed to the State of the Heart Home Hospice.  Online condolences may be left at www.williamsonspencer.com

pat and family, so sorry to hear about granny fanny. i know you all have some great memories to hold on to. once again you have my sympathy.
