 Ruth E. Daniels, age 89, a former longtime resident of rural Penn Township, Jay County, died Sunday at Persimmon Ridge Nursing Home in Portland.
Ruth was a former employee of Bickel and Duke Insurance Company in Portland for many years, retiring in 1977.Ruth Daniels was born on February 2, 1919, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Linnlie and Ida (Cline) Bourne. She married Jospeh A. Daniels on June 1, 1937, who died on November 21, 1991. Survivors include: 1 son: Gary Daniels (wife Betty) – Pennville, Indiana 1 daughter: Donna S. Geesaman (husband Douglas) – rural Pennville, Indiana 1 brother: Lee Bourne – Yorktown, Indiana 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren Funeral services for Ruth E. Daniels will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Chris Tiedeman will officiate and burial will follow in the I.O.O.F. Twin Hills Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2 - 7 p.m. in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
