James A. Fisher was born on May 28, 1959, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Elmer Leon and Helen G. (Laux) Fisher.  He graduated from Jay County High School in 1977.  He served in the National Guard from 1980 to 1989.

    1 brother:  John Fisher (wife Janice) – Portland, Indiana

    4 sisters:  Patty Lee (husband James) – Yorktown, Indiana
              Martha Inman (husband Dale) – Winchester, Indiana
              Ruth Davidson – Portland, Indiana
                    Cathy Klopfenstein (husband Ted) – Madison, Indiana

    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for the family on Thursday at 11 a.m. in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Portland.  Father Robert Moran will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.

    Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Humane Society.
