Ruth Irene Richard, 87, of 179 E. Grand Street in Dunkirk passed away on Monday night, March 23, 2009 at the Albany Health and RehabilitationCenter.
Ruth was born on November, 18, 1921 in Jay County the Daughter of Lerten and Opal (Alexander) Champ. She worked at the Jay Garment, and was a member of the First Freewill Baptist Church of Dunkirk. She married Wilbur Richard on May 18, 1942 and he preceded her in death on January 16, 1992. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Services for Ruth Irene Richard will be 3:00 PM on Thursday, March 26, 2009 at the Portland Chapel of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Homes. A visitation will be from 1-3 PM on Thursday, March 24, 2009 at the funeral home. Pastor Jim Hamm will be officiating the service with burial to follow at Green Park Cemetery, Portland, IN. Memorial donations to be directed towards the 1st Freewill Baptist Church of Dunkirk, with envelopes available at the funeral home.
