Charles was an employee of the Portland Concrete Burial Vault Company in Portland for several years and most recently has been an Amish driver for several years.  He was a member of the Jay County Conservation Club.

    Charles was born on February 19, 1941, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Frederick and Opal (Hoover) Shawver.  He married Margaret Laux on October 18, 1996.

    His wife:  Margaret Shawver – rural Fort Recovery, Ohio

    2 sisters:  Marjorie Brown – rural Portland, Indiana
              Patti Wilson (husband Lavon) – rural Portland, Indiana

    Funeral services for Charles Shawver will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Salamonia Cemetery.  

    Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-8 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
