Wanda M. Pfeifer, 84, of Portland, Indiana passed away on Friday night, October 23, 2009 at her home. Wanda was born on May 20, 1925 in Salamonia, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Mary Elizabeth (Corle) Mays.She graduated from Madison Township High School in 1942.Wanda worked at Jay Products for 23 years and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, VFW, Moose and Eagles.She married Carl R. Pfeifer Jr. on November 10, 1946 and he passed away on October 21, 1981.Survivors include, 1 Son: David Pfeifer – Portland, Indiana, 3 Daughters:Patricia Joyner (husband Ronald) – Bloomfield Hills, Michigan, Susan Ford (husband Tom) – Sturgis, Michigan, Cynthia Shaneyfelt – Sarasota, Florida, 1 Brother: Darwin Mays (wife Pat) – Fort Recovery, Ohio, 5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.Funeral services for Wanda M. Pfeifer will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2009, at 10 a.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home, with Rogers Durham officiating.Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
