Lena A. Campbell, 97, of Portland, Indiana passed away on Tuesday night, November 24, 2009 at the Crown Pointe of Portland following an extended illness. Lena Campbell was born on March 14, 1912 in Wayne Township, Jay County the daughter of William E. and Caroline (Hammann) Stoner. She was a member of the Fairview United Methodist Church and worked in the kitchen of the Noble Township School. Lena married Corwin G. Campbell on November 18, 1933. Corwin preceded her in death on December 17, 1999. Survivors include: Her Son: Eldon L. Campbell (wife Judy) – Portland, Indiana Her Daughter: Janet Weesner – Portland, Indiana 7 Grandchildren: David Weesner (wife Karla) – rural Portland, Lloyd Weesner (wife Teresa) – rural Portland, Jeff Weesner (wife Sarah) – rural Portland, Eric Weesner (wife Addie) – rural Portland, Sherry Axe (husband Bob) – rural Portland, Lori Hoang (husband Thanh) – Plymouth, Michigan, Phil Campbell (wife Nanette) – Indianapolis, Renee Campbell – Sylvania, Alabama. 14 Great Grandchildren 17 Great Great Granchildren She was predeceased by a son-in-law Earl Weesner and two grandsons; Darren Campbell and Gene Weesner. Funeral services for Lena Campbell will be held on Sunday, November 29, 2009, at 2 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Robert Denney will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2009 from 2-7 p.m. in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed towards the Fairview United Methodist Church or Family Hospice and Palliative Care. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
