Phillip Roger Atkinson, 72, of Dunkirk, Indiana passed away on Sunday morning, December 13, 2009 at his residence following an extended illness.
Phillip was born on May 30, 1937 in Portland, Indiana the son of Erple and Irene (Hampshire) Atkinson. He retired after working over 16 years for the Street & Water Department in the City of Dunkirk. Phillip married Margie Blankinship in 1962. She preceded him in death on February 16, 1987. Survivors include: His Son: Kenneth A. Atkinson – Dunkirk, IN His Daughters: Patty A. Jasinski (husband Don) – Dunkirk, IN His Sisters: Rosemary Williams – Berne, IN formerly of Portland, IN Ruth Morgan (husband Don) – Albany, IN Nova Evans – Albany, IN His Four Grandchildren His Two Great Grandchildren Funeral Services for Phillip R. Atkinson will be 7:00 P.M. on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home, Portland Chapel. Pastor Randy Davis will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at a later date in the Dunkirk I.O.O.F. Cemetery Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 from 3-7 p.m. prior to the service in the Portland Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
