In Memory of Lewis Sherrill
Active ImageLewis R. Sherrill, 71, former resident of Logansport and Bluffton, Indiana passed away on Saturday Night, February 27, 2010 at his home in Fort Wayne, Indiana following an extended illness.

Lewis was born in Elwood, Indiana on July 20, 1938 the son of William T. and Bernice (Holt) Sherrill.  He married Patricia Thomas on September 17, 1960.  Lewis worked at the Midwest Tool and Die in Fort Wayne for 32 years.  He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Logansport, Indiana.  He called square dancing around the Fort Wayne, Michigan, Ohio and Indiana areas for many years.  Survivors include; His wife of 49 years: Patricia Sherrill – Fort Wayne, Indiana, His Two sons: Craig A. Sherrill (fiancé Debbie Haddaway) – Fort Wayne, Indiana, Steven R. Sherrill – Port St. John, Florida, His daughter: Dianna M. Allen (husband Scott) – Fort Wayne, Indiana, His Granddaughter: Brittney Fox (fiancé Warren Barrand) – Fort Wayne, Indiana, His Step-Granddaughters: Bethany Allen – New Haven, Indiana, Breiana Allen – New Haven, Indiana, His Three Sisters: Loretta Coffey – Port St. John, Florida, Rosetta Moon – Logansport, Indiana, Barbara Cotton – Logansport, Indiana, His Aunt: Mildred DeLong – Tipton, Indiana.Visitation for Lewis R. Sherrill will be held on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. followed by a service at 8 p.m., with Pastor Rex Persons officiating in the D.O. McCombs Lakeside Park Chapel, 1140 Lake Avenue, Fort Wayne, IN. Due to the weather Graveside services for Lewis R. Sherrill will be held at a later date in the Limberlost Cemetery, East of Bryant, Indiana.  Arrangements made by the Williamson & Spencer Funeral Home.  Memorial Donations may be directed toward the Parkview Hospice with envelopes available at the funeral home.  Online condolences may be sent to www.williamsonspencer.com.

To Pat and family, 
 
Our thoughts and prayers are with you. We both have many fond memories of dancing with Pat and Lewis. Lewis was my original square dance instructor, in Hoagland IN, and I’m still dancing 36 years later. Cherish your good memories. They will help you now.

Pat, I was so sorry to read of the passsing of your husband. Although I never knew your husband I still have memories of riding that yellow bus with you and your brothers those so many years ago.My thoughts are with you and your family. Linda
