Beverly Schwartzkopf

Beverly Schwartzkopf, age 56, a resident of Portland, passed away on Sunday, July 24, 2016 at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne. 

Beverly was born on April 25, 1960, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of James and Patricia (Manor) Myers.  She graduated from Jay County High School in 1978 and earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business from Indiana Wesleyan University.  She worked at Jay County Hospital where she was the Lab Office Manager and EKG Technologist.   She married Dale Schwartzkopf on May 3, 1980 and he passed away on August 30, 2011.

Her parents:  James and Patricia Myers – Portland, Indiana

Her fiancé:  Steve McBride – rural Portland, Indiana

2 daughters:  Angie Shaffer (husband Mitch) – Portland, Indiana

                      Leslie Johnson (husband Kyle) – Plainfield, Indiana

2 sisters:  Julie Foster (husband Jeff) – Daleville, Indiana

                Jennifer Wilson (husband Kelly) – Portland, Indiana

5 grandchildren:  Julian Shaffer, Saffron Shaffer, Krosby Johnson, Lyla Johnson and Quincy Johnson. 

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-6 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Pastor Gil Alicea will officiate and burial will follow at a later date in the Center Cemetery, west of Portland.

Memorials may be directed towards the Friends of the Limberlost, Quail Unlimited or Pheasants Forever.  Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
