Carl Alan Brotherton, age 37, a resident of Salamonia, passed away on Thursday, September 21, 2017 from a car accident in Noble Township, Jay County. 

     Carl was born on November 7, 1979, in Coldwater, Ohio, the son of Gregory and Ronda (Bonifield) Brotherton.  He graduated from Jay County High School in 1998 and worked for Cooper Farms, Jay Products and most recently Burger King in Portland.  He married Phaedra Ann Twigg on June 11, 2016. 

    

     Survivors include:

       His Parents:  Gregory and Ronda Brotherton – Salamonia, Indiana

         His wife:  Phaedra Brotherton – Salamonia, Indiana

         1 son:  Richard “Kodee” Brotherton – Geneva, Indiana

         1 sister:  Tierra Brotherton (companion:  Ronnie White, Jr.) – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

         His grandmother:  Peg Klefker – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

         Mother-in-law:  Ruth Ann Fifer (husband Ernie) – Balbec, Indiana

         2 nephews:  Ronnie White, III and Riley White – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

         1 niece:  Robyn White – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

          2 grandchildren:  Damion Ryder Brotherton and Briella Sue-Jeanne Brotherton

       Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. 

        Memorials may be directed to the family in care of the funeral home.

I went to high school with Carl and knew him through mutual friends. Sadly, I lost touch with most people after I moved away. I remember that he was always a kind person. Sounds like he grew up to be a really great guy. I am truly sorry for your loss. Lifting his family and friends up in prayer.
