Judith Ann Williamson, age 80, a resident of Portland, Indiana, passed away on Monday, April 18, 2016 at Swiss Village in Berne, Indiana.
Judy was born on August 17, 1935, in Bearcreek Township, Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of William Frederick and Dortha Imo (Bailey) Axe. She graduated from Bryant High School in 1953, Lutheran Hospital School of Nursing in 1956 and Rockland Community College in Suffern, New York. Judy married Arthur Williamson on December 21, 1956.
She worked as a registered nurse for 15 years, a Medical Office Manager for 10 years and a realtor for Porter Takats in Portland. She also worked as a secretary for the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland and Pennville for several years.
Judy was a member of the Portland Morning Optimist Club where she served as President, Vice President, Treasurer and Secretary. She was awarded with Optimist of the Year and Indiana North District Optimist of the Year in 2004. She was awarded the 2012 Optimist Club District Humanitarian Award. Judy was a life member of the Beta Sigma Phi International Sorority and a board member of the Jay County Historical Society. She was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in rural Portland.

2 grandchildren: Kyle Arthur Williamson and Sara Lyn Williamson
1 sister: Janet Sue Anspaugh – Tiffin, Ohio

Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland, Indiana.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Darrell Borders will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be directed towards the Portland Morning Optimist Club.
