Louise Corle

Louise Corle, age 90, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, July 28, 2016, at her home in Portland. 

Louise was born on April 13, 1926, in Portland, Indiana the daughter of Clarence and Goldie (Robbins) Reichard.  She worked at the Portland Book Bindery, Portland Hatchery and Marsh Grocery Stores in Portland.  She also owned and operated a restaurant in Portland with her sister.  She was a member of the Salamonia United Church of Christ where she was a member of the Ladies Guild.  Louise married Robert Corle on April 22, 1944 and he passed away on January 8, 1992. 

            Survivors include:

            1 daughter:  Donna Corle – Portland, Indiana

            2 grandchildren Ryan Wenk (wife Sarah), Jennifer Hunt (husband David), 6 great grandchildren, Maddison Wenk, Bryce Wenk, Sylas Wenk, Laylona Wenk, Brandon Kegley and Chandler Tussing and 3 step great grandchildren, Krishna Hunt, Mahkiah Hunt and Elijiah Hunt. 

            Her caregiver:  Sondra Valangeon – Eaton, Indiana

            Several nieces and nephews

            She was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Jamie Jae Foreman and Lindsay Marie Wenk and 1 great grandchild, Ambrelle Louise Hunt

            Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 from 12 – 2 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery. 

            In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed towards the family in care of Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
