Mark Morgan

April 21, 1965 ~ March 11, 2017 (age 51) 51 Years Old

     Mark A. Morgan age 51, a former Portland resident, passed away on Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Dunkirk. 

     Mark was born on April 21, 1965, in Hartford City, Indiana, the son of Howard and Margaret (Whetsel) Morgan.  He graduated from Jay County High School in 1983 and served in the U.S. Army during Desert Storm.  He continued his service by serving in the Indiana National Guard. 

    Survivors include:

     2 sons:  Quentin Morgan – Toccoa, Georgia

                   Isiah Morgan – Arcadia, Kansas

     His former wife:  Cathy Brown - Ridgeville, Indiana

     1 brother:  Dale Morgan – Defuniak Springs, Florida

     3 sisters:  Connie Beavers (husband Robert) – Geneva, Indiana

                     Sharon Robbins (husband Danny) – Defuniak Springs, Florida

                     Tammy Houston (husband Rob) – Portland, Indiana

    Step-children:  Ty Sells – Arcadia, Kansas

                              Ezra Sells – Fort Scott, Arkansas

                              Precious Sells – Dalton, Georgia

                              Mezmariah Morgan – Dalton, Georgia

                              Raider Newton – Portland, Indiana

      Visitation for Mark Morgan will be held on Thursday from 10 – 11 a.m. at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.  Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.  Pastor Henry Favorite will officiate and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.  

       The American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military graveside rites.
