Betty Armstrong Obituary

Betty Armstrong, age 92 a resident of Portland passed away Monday, September 30, 2019 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre.  She was a homemaker, and a member of the Portland Church of God of Prophecy and the Portland American Legion Auxiliary for over 50 years. 

     Betty Armstrong was born June 12, 1927 in Muncie, Indiana the daughter of James and Margaret (Geyer) Lipscomb.  She was married to Dillard Armstrong in 1946 and he passed away in 1990.

Survivors Include:

3 Daughters- Sharon Schmit, Portland, Indiana,  Carol McIlwain (husband-Brad), Ridgeland, South Carolina, and  Sheila Coon, Geneva, Indiana

1 Son- Curt Armstrong (wife-Yuchun), Glendale, Arizona,

1 Sister- Mildred Lipscomb, Portland, Indiana

7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren, 4 Great Great Grandchild

     Visitation will be held Saturday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Celebration of life services will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.  Pastor Nan Weesner will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Daughtery Cemetery on the Jay-Adams County line.          

                Memorials may be directed towards Portland Church of God Prophecy or Jay County Cancer Society.
