Betty Farris

     Betty Farris, age 70, a resident of Portland, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018 at her home in Portland. 

     Betty was born on June 21, 1947 in Bedford, Indiana the daughter of Clarence and Mary (Owens) Colglaizer.  She worked for Standard Brush and Broom in Portland for several years and was a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Portland. She was also a member of the Southern Indiana Bluegrass Association.  Betty married Lonnie Farris on December 21, 1985 and he passed away on December 14, 2007. 

     Survivors include:

     3 step-children:  David Farris – Indianapolis, Indiana

                                Jeff Farris (wife Karla) – Berne, Indiana

                               Michelle Ripple (husband Kevin) – Vera Cruz, Indiana

     2 sisters:  Louise Cecere – Nutley, New Jersey

                     Jackie Gregson – Whiting, New Jersey

     1 brother:  John Colglazier – Nutley, New Jersey

     8 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren

     She was preceded in death by her mother and father and a sister, Lavonda Mae Colglazier who died during childhood at the age of 8.  

     Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 5-7 p.m. at Williamson, Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate and burial will take place in Timbo Cemetery in Timbo, Arkansas.
