Helen Ashcraft

     Helen I. Ashcraft, age 92, a resident of Midland, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, November 25, 2017 at MidMichigan Medical Center in Midland, Michigan.  She was a former resident of Portland, Indiana.   

           Helen was born on September 5, 1925, in Jay County, Indiana, the daughter of Herbert and Wilma (Dunmoyer) Green.  She graduated from Poling High School in 1943 and married Morris Ashcraft on April 29, 1945.  He preceded her in death on January 10, 2010.  She managed Heritage Arms Apartments in Midland, Michigan for over 20 years. 

            Survivors include:

            1 daughter:  Wilma Artalee Barnes – Midland, Michigan

            1 son:  Stanley Ashcraft (wife Donna) – Clinton Township, Michigan

            1brother:  John Green – Fort Wayne, Indiana

            4 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren

             She was preceded in death by a brother, Keith Green. 

             Graveside services will be held 10 a.m. Monday, December 4, 2017 at Springhill Cemetery in Fort Recovery, Ohio.  Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate.

             Arrangements are being handled by Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
