Jack Batt, age 68 a resident of rural Portland passed away Sunday, April 29, 2018 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Centre with his family at his side. He had battled dementia for many years. Jack was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather. He was the founder and owner of Flamespray in Portland for 23 years and retired in 2011. He was a graduate of Muncie South Side High School, and a veteran of the Indiana National Guard. He was a member of the Portland Eagles Lodge and an accomplished drag racer. An avid sports fan, he loved college basketball, Cincinnati Reds baseball, and Indianapolis Colts football.
Jack Batt was born February 2, 1950 in Muncie, Indiana the son of Virgil and Lucille (Garret) Batt. He was married on August 28, 1982 to Kristie McKinley.
Survivors Include: His beloved wife- Kristie McKinley Batt, Portland, 2 sons- Christopher Batt, Muncie, and Matthew Wood, Portland. His mother- Lucille Batt, Muncie, 2 Brothers- Larry Batt (wife-Sherry), Gaston, and Donald Batt (wife-Kim), Muncie. 1 Sister- Linda Crow (husband-George), Muncie.
2 Grandchildren- Cera and Alex Batt, 2 Step Grandchildren- Nicholas Seter and Cameron Castillo
Private memorial services will be held for the family in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
