Larry Journay

Larry Journay, age 77, a resident of Portland, passed away on Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at his home. 

     Larry was born on September 27, 1940 in Jay County, Indiana the son of Robert and Mary “Sal” (Miller) Journay.  He graduated from Portland High School in 1958.  Larry married Judy Emery in 1961 and she passed away 2002.  He retired from Portland Forge in 2009 after 47 years of service.  Larry enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

     Survivors include:

     2 sons:  Roger Journay (wife Renay) – Berne, Indiana

                  Max Journay – Lawrenceburg, Kentucky

     5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren

     Visitation will be held on Sunday from 3-7 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. 

     Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.  Pastor Larry Eads will officiate and burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery in Portland. 

     Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Cancer Society.
