Mable Jean Caylor, age 91 a resident of Pennville, passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 at Christian Care Center in Bluffton, Indiana. She was a 1944 graduate of Portland High School and loved to read and write poetry. She was a computer programmer for many years with Teledyne Portland Forge. She was instrumental in forming the first public library in the City of Pennville. She was a member of the Pennville Rebekah Lodge, National Poetry Society, and the Audubon Society.
Mable Jean Caylor was born March 15, 1926 in Portland, Indiana the daughter of Jacob R. and Nellie (Shreeve) Platt. She was married on October 10, 1948 to Gene Caylor and he passed away March 4, 1984.
Survivors Include:
2 Sons- Michael Caylor (wife-RuthAnn), Fishers, Indiana
Randy Caylor(wife-Melissa), Lewisville, Indiana
1 Daughter- Brenda McIntosh(husband-Darin), Decatur, Indiana
1 Sister- June Marie Williamson, Portland, Indiana
10 Grandchildren, 16 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a son, Gary Caylor, and grandson Jarrod Caylor.
Visitation will be held from 4-7pm on Friday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Saturday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Pastor Gil Alicea will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery southeast of Portland.
