Darrell, I had a dream of Paula's passing tonight and even sent her a text. I looked for her obit, and there it was. I am so deeply saddened and stunned. Our last conversation was so positive and we were sure she was beating Cancers ASS!
I am sorry I wasn't present to honor her life and passing. We connected on a very special level from our very first meeting. I will miss her laugh, wisdom and friendship.
I am so sorry for your loss and will keep you in my prayers for peace.

Family of Pauline,

I am sorry to learn the passing of your beloved wife & sister. She used to stop by 7th St. Fruit Market many times with her dad. I am not sure how many years she lived across the road from some of the property my grandma owned.

Hugs & prayers from OK!

I know Pauline by having the great opportunity to teach in her classroom via Alive and Well classes last year. Mrs. Borders reminded me why I teach. She brought back my love for teaching. She never even knew that she did this because by just observing her was enough to want to be like her. Mrs. Borders loved the unloved. Mrs. Borders respected the unrespected. Mrs. Borders reached to the unreached. Every child felt that they were someone in her classroom. Since my week in her classroom I have taken her spirit with me and try to show the love and respect to all of my students just as she did. Pauline will continue to inspire me. Thank you for sharing her with me.

Praying for your family both now and in future times,

Tricia Tucker

Pauline was among the best teachers I had throughout my formal education. She went above and beyond (at least with me) teaching science. Though the class centered primarily around physics, which I grasped intuitively, she took the time to additionally teach me botany. Her devotion to teaching extended even to a few weekend trips into the woods for field study. She left an indelible mark on me. She will be dearly missed.

Oh my. So sorry for your loss. I knew Pauline and her parents as a child. They were all wonderful, God fearing and loving people. I so hate to know that her time her on earth had to be short. I know she had so much to offer and give. She will be greatly missed by all who loved her.

I WOULD LIKE TO BEGIN BY SAYING MY HEART AND PRAYERS GO OUT TO THE BORDERS FAMILY THEY HAVE MY DEEPEST SYMPATHY.
MRS.BORDERS WAS MY DAUGHTER'S SCIENCE TEACHER ALONG WITH HER OLDER SIBLINGS.
MY SON WRITES EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T CARE FOR SCIENCE VERY MUCH I LOVED HER CLASS. SHE DIDN'T TAKE MY CRAP NOR DID SHE TREAT ME LIKE CRAP.NEVER HAD ANYTHING NEGATIVE TO SAY AND KNEW WHICH PUNISHMENTS WOULD TEACH ME THE MORE VALUABLE OF A LESSON.FOR INSTANCE. DISRUPTING CLAS SHOULD HAVE BEEN AN ISS BUT INSTEAD I HAD TO SET AT HER TABLE AT LUNCH AND ASK ALL OF THE TEACHERS "MAY I PLEASE HAVE THE HONOR OF TAKING UP YOUR TRAY?" SHE KNEW I DIDN'T MIND THE ISS . REST IN PEACE WITH JESUS MRS.BORDERS.
SHE HAS BUILT THE ENCOURAGEMENT IN EACH OF MY CHILDREN THAT IF SHE HAD NOT THEY WOULD HAVE GIVEN UP! I AM SURE THAT MY CHILDREN AREN'T THE ONLY ONES THAT SHE HAS DONE THIS FOR! I BELIEVE SHE DESERVES SOME KIND OF AN AWARD FOR HELPING ALL THE STRUGGLING CHILDREN SHE HAS SAVED!
GOD BLESS YOUR FAMILY AND MAY HE GIVE YOU THE STRENGTH AND COURAGE TO GET THROUGH THIS BUT YOU HAVE A WHOLE COMMUNITY BEHIND YOU AND WILLING TO HELP IN ANY WAY POSSIBLE SO DON'T BE AFRAID TO REACH OUT BECAUSE WE ALL LOVED HERT TO.
GOD TOOK HOME. A VERY PRECIOUS PERSON!
MAY HE BE WITH YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.
REMEMBER THIS IS NOT GOODBYE,IT IS UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN! AMEN!

I was privileged to work with Pauline when I taught 7th grade English at South Adams. Her passion for life, for people, and for teaching is something that I always admired. She could make me laugh, or she could be brutal, but one thing for sure is that she was always genuine. I am a better person for having known her, and I am thankful for the time I got to spend with her. My sympathies to you, Darrell and to her family, friends, and students.

Mrs. Borders was my teacher and my coworker. I so enjoyed her class, identifying all those pickled critters in the jars. South Adams will miss her very much.

All my condolences to Ms. Pensinger ( Borders) and her family . She was a special teacher to me and to so many of us ! Her petite exterior , yet tough inner self made her that extra special teacher who was a force to be reckoned with.! I will never forget what she taught me .
