Rev. Charles "Chuck" Franklin Babbitt

     Rev. Charles “Chuck” Franklin Babbitt age 71 a resident of Portland passed away Thursday, December 13, 2018 at his home.  He retired from Crown in New Bremen in 2001 and Pennville Custom Cabinets.  He was a 1967 graduate of Hartford City High School and a member of the Evangelical Methodist Church in Portland.  He was an Army veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of the Arch Bridge Kroozers in Portland.

     Charles was born July 1, 1947 in Hartford City, Indiana the son of Ralph and Naomi (Day) Babbitt.  Charles was married to Rebecca Pogue and she passed away on April 21, 1975.

Survivors Include:

1 Son- Shane Babbitt (wife- Michelle), Portland, Indiana

1 Brother- George Babbitt, Portland, Indiana

2 Grandsons- Dustin and Kelsey Vore

   Visitation will be held from 1:00pm-3:00pm Saturday in the Evangelical  Methodist Church, 930 W. Main St. in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 3:00pm at the church.  Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.

Portland American Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military graveside rites at the cemetery.
