Velma Rook, age 91 a resident of Portland passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 at Heritage Pointe of Warren in Warren, Indiana. She was a member of the West Walnut St. Church of Christ and retired from Jay Garment in Portland after 25 years. She was a member of the IU Health Jay Auxiliary, Portland Morning Optimist Club and a Girl Scout leader for many years.
Velma Rook was born April 3, 1928 in Wells County, Indiana the daughter of Charles and Bessie (Newhard) Schoeff. She was married on August 25, 1951 to Francis Rook and he passed away on July 6, 1988.

Great Grandchildren- Jocelyn Huey, Chanceler, Brady, and Orie Baldauf, Keanan and Wyatt LeMaster, Madison Curtis, and Trevor Brock

Visitation for Velma Rook will be held from 10am-2pm on Saturday in the Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2pm. Burial will follow in Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
Memorials may be directed to West Walnut St. Church of Christ or IU Health Jay Auxiliary.
