Jama L. Bumbalough, age 48, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, June 1, 2023 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness.

Jama was born on July 11, 1974, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Jim and Joyce (Shauver) Gibson.  She graduated from Jay County High School and worked for Crown Pointe in Portland.  Jama attended Fellowship Baptist Church.  She married Larry Bumbalough on June 5, 1998.

Her husband:  Larry Bumbalough, Jr. – Portland, Indiana

Children:  Larry Bumbalough III – Portland, Indiana

Ethan Bumbalough – Portland, Indiana

Hannah Marie Bumbalough – Portland, Indiana

Step-daughter:  Amy Jo Ford (husband Marcus) – Portland, Indiana

Her mother:  Joyce Bailey (husband Steve) – Portland, Indiana

Siblings:  Anita Evans – Ft. Recovery, Ohio

Sherry Eaton – Muncie, Indiana

Jeb Bailey – San Antonio, Texas

Family friend:  Kiersten Ward – Portland, Indiana

Her father-in-law and mother-in-law:  Larry Bumbalough, Sr. and Marcella Bumbalough – Portland, Indiana

3 grandchildren:  Anthony Ford, Elizabeth Ford and Carter Ward

She was preceded in death by her father, Jim Gibson, and a grandson, Matthew Theurer

Graveside services will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 12 noon at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.  Arrangement entrusted to Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
