William "Bill" Hicks

William “Bill” J.A. Hicks, age 51, a resident of Redkey, passed away on Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Portland.

Bill was born on February 16, 1971, in Bluffton, Indiana, the son of William B. and Linda (Lee) Hicks.  He attended Jay County High School and worked as a handyman.  Bill married Michell Ford on September 30, 2010.

His wife:  Michell Hicks – Redkey, Indiana

2 sons:  Brandon Hough – Portland, Indiana

William Hicks – Portland, Indiana

His father:  William B. Hicks – Winchester, Indiana

2 sisters:  Corinna Elwood (husband Tony) – Portland, Indiana

Annette Stults (fiancé Mike Brenner) – Portland, Indiana

2 grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Hicks and a sister, Linda Herriford.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  A service to celebrate Bill’s life will follow at 7 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Burial will follow at a later date in Antioch Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed towards the family in care of the funeral home.
