Alva Dean Craig

October 8, 1934 — June 10, 2013

Alva Dean Craig, age 78, passed away Monday, June 10, 2013 at his home in Bryant, Indiana. He retired from Teledyne Portland Forge in 1988 after 30 years. He graduated from Bryant High School in 1953 and was a veteran of the US Army.

Alva Craig was born October 8, 1934 in Jay County the son of Roy and Martha Etta (Brumbaugh) Craig. He was married on February 29, 1960 to Mary Grogg who survives.

3 Brothers- Dale Craig (wife-Barbara Jean), Chesapeake, Virginia
Eldon Craig, Virginia
Steve Craig, Portland, Indiana
2 Sisters- Arlene Franklin (husband-Ralph), New Castle, Indiana
Nancy Warren, Portland, Indiana
11 Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren

Visitation will be held from 2-3pm on Wednesday at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.

Funeral services will be held at 3pm Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Mike Clark will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant, Indiana. American Legion Post 211 in Portland will be in charge of military graveside rites at the cemetery.

Memorials may be directed towards Jay/Randolph Developmental Center.
