Ann Newton, age 70, a resident of Portland passed away on Thursday, December 31, 2020 at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie. Ann was born December 22, 1950 in Jay County, Indiana the daughter of Jim and Bertha (Abbott) Nichols. Ann married Tim Newton on December 27, 1969.

Survivors Include: Her husband of 51 years: Tim Newton – Portland, Indiana 3 daughters: Tammy Schubert (husband Keith) – Portland, Indiana Annette Enterline – Portland, Indiana Amanda Newton – Berne, Indiana 1 son: Duane Newton – Portland, Indiana Several grandchildren and great-grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Bertha Nichols, 2 sisters Rachel Scott and Audrey Redford and a granddaughter, Casey Clubs.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 1-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Phill Jellison will officiate the service and burial will follow in Liber Cemetery, south of Portland.
