Annabelle Smith, age 92, a former resident of Noble Township, Jay County, passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Swiss Village in Berne.
Annabelle was born on July 19, 1930, in Portland, the daughter of Veo and Ethel (Martin) Flory. She and her husband farmed for many years in Noble Township. She also worked as a secretary for NAAS Foods, Pennville Custom Cabinets, Big Wheel, 3D, Bearcreek Farms and Super 8 Motel. She was a member of Bellefountain United Methodist Church and VFW Auxiliary. Annabelle married Orla Smith on September 3, 1949 and he died on September 6, 2006.

Her son: Jeff Smith (wife Agnes) – rural Portland, Indiana
3 grandchildren: April Heers, Michelle Evans and Kyle Ludy
1 foster granddaughter: Amber Wanken
Several great grandchildren and nieces and nephews
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rhonda Ludy, grandson, Nathan Smith, siblings, Gerald Flory, Calvin Flory, and Ruby Mertz
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 4, 2022 from 4-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2022 at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Pastor Darrel Borders will officiate and burial will follow at Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana.
Memorials may be directed towards Bellefountain United Methodist Church.
