Barbara Burkett, age 79 a resident of Portland passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Portland. She was a homemaker.
Barbara Burkett was born December 22, 1936 in Portland, Indiana the daughter of Lennie and Ida Mae (Lanning) Walker. She was married to Eldon Burkett in 1955 and he passed away in 2008.

1 Daughter- Becky Elliott (Husband-Steven), Portland
1 Brother- Bill Walker, Portland
3 Sisters- Jean Ballie

7 Grandchildren and several Great Grandchildren
Two children preceded in death- Fredrick Burkett, and Patricia Carpenter
Visitation will be held from 12-2pm on Saturday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will follow at 2:00pm Saturday in the funeral home. Pastor Gerald Roesly will officiate the services and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.
