Betty St. John
July 4, 1928 — September 11, 2017
Betty St. John, age 89, a former resident of rural Portland, passed away on Monday, September 11, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital South in Riverview, Florida. She was a member of the Portland Evangelical Methodist Church. She and her husband farmed in Greene Twp. for many years and were caretakers of the Indiana State Holiness Camp on SR 26 in Jay County. She and her husband were missionaries for the Evangelical Methodist Church in Louisiana.
Betty St. John was born July 4, 1928 in Dunkirk, Indiana the daughter of Guy and Caroline (Foster) Bishop. She was married September 8, 1945 to Rev. Harley St. John and he passed away on December 6, 2006.

3 Daughters- Sharon Stultz (husband-Allen), Apollo Beach, Florida
Carolyn Ludington (husband-William), Danville, Illinois
Linda Eads – Geneva, Indiana
5 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren, and 9 Great Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 10am-1pm on Wednesday at the Portland Evangelical Methodist Church. Funeral services will follow at 1pm on Wednesday at the church. Pastor Steve Arnold will officiate the services and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.
