Betty Tankersley

Betty Tankersley, age 76, a resident of Pennville passed away Sunday morning , May 26, 2013 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. She was a homemaker and babysitter and attended the Sugar Grove Church of the Nazarene in Jay County. She and her husband moved to Pennville 50 years ago from Big Stone Gap, Virginia.
Betty was born November 26, 1935 in Big Stone Gap, Virginina the daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Anderson) Hartsock. She was married on June 19, 1954 to Ed "Sonny" Tankersley who survives.

1 Son- Joe Tankersley (wife- Annie), Pennville, Indiana
1 Daughter- Tina Utt (husband-Fred), Muncie, Indiana
1 Brother- Jack Hartsock (wife- Jewel), Johnson City, Tennessee
1 Sister- Alma Ruth Reasor, Olinger, Virginia
5 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 6-8pm Thursday at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Friday in the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Rev. Steve Connor will officiate the services and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hills Cemetery in Pennville.
Memorials may be directed to the Scleroderma Foundation where envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
