Bob Lanning, age 93, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Friday, May 15, 2026 at his home.

Bob was born January 10, 1933, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Gerald and Elma (Smith) Lanning. Bob and his wife farmed in Pike Township for many years and owned and operated Lanning Processing. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church. Bob married Nola (Middleton) Lanning on April 16, 1952 and she passed away on December 27, 2021.

10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren

He was preceded in death by his wife, Nola Lanning; his son, Gary Lanning; his grandson, Mike Limbert and son-in-law, Chris Limbert.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Services to celebrate Bob’s life will follow at 2 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. Pastor Hugh Kelly will officiate and burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery, southeast of Portland.
