Bonnie Alice Aker, age 74 , a resident of Portland passed away Monday, April 28, 2014 at Persimmon Ridge Rehabilitation Center in Portland. She and her husband owned and operated Aker Plumbing in Portland for many years. She also worked at the Wayne Twp. Trustee’s Office and the Jay Garment Co. in Portland. She graduated from Gov. I. P. Gray School in 1957. She was a lifetime member of the Portland Elks, and a member of the Portland American Legion Auxillary
Bonnie Aker was born December 15, 1939 in Jay County the daughter of Hubert and Violet (Hudson) DeBoy. She was married to Richard (Dick) Aker in 1957 and he passed away in 1989.

Kristie McIntire (husband-Ryan), Portland, Indiana
Kim Tobe (husband-Michael), Portland, Indiana
20 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 2-7pm Wednesday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am Thursday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Hugh Kelly will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Center Cemetery west of Portland.
Memorials may be directed to State of the Heart Hospice.
