Carmen Grayson, age 58, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Carmen was born on October 27, 1964 in Portland, the daughter of Ralph and Judith (Bye) Grayson. She graduated from Jay County High School and worked at Walmart in Portland, Jay Randolph Developmental Services in Portland and Mainsource Bank in Portland. She attended New Covenant Fellowship Church.
Carmen enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren. Everyday she spent time doing her daily devotions. She enjoyed crafting, poetry and painting. Carmen loved her dogs dearly, Dottie, Tinie and Sweet Pea, they truly had a special place in her heart.

2 brothers: Kevin Grayson (wife Rhonda) – Geneva, Indiana
Joel Smitley – Portland, Indiana
Duane Smitley – Portland, Indiana
2 sisters: Christina Grayson – Portland, Indiana
Martha Walker – Portland, Indiana
5 grandchildren and 2 bonus grandchildren
3 Nieces and 5 Nephews
She was preceded in death by a sister, Cinda Johnson and nephew, Brandon Grayson.
Visitation will be held on Thursday from 1-3 p.m. at New Covenant Fellowship Church, 1238 W. 450 S., Portland, Indiana 47371. Funeral services will follow on Thursday at 3 p.m. at the church.
Memorials may be directed towards St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
