Caroline Sue Adkins

Caroline Sue Adkins, age 79, a resident of Portland, passed away on Sunday, October 25, 2026 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

Sue was born June 28, 1947, in Portland, Indiana, the daughter of Robert L. Jacobs and Thelma L. (Morgan) Binegar. She graduated from Anderson High School in 1965 and worked at W&M Manufacturing and Bailey Premix. She married Golza Adkins on May 1, 1998 and he passed away on April 5, 2009.

Tim Butler (companion Karla) – Portland, Indiana

3 step-sons: William Adkins (wife Tammy) – Portland, Indiana

Steve Adkins – Branchland, West Virginia

Barry Adkins – Branchland, West Virginia

Her siblings: Barbara Nuckols – Portland, Indiana

Vicki Butler (husband Rick) – Kingston, TN

Teresa Marie Stewart – Lagrange, Indiana

David Morgan (wife Laura) – Hartford City, Indiana

5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild

She was preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Adkins, Siblings, Pam McIntire, Jerry Binegar, Mary Jane Jacobs, Janet Binegar and Richard Binegar.

Services to celebrate Sue’s life are pending at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.
