Cecil H. Imel, age 87, a former Portland resident, passed away on Friday, May 17, 2013, at Marion VA Hospital in Marion, Indiana.
Cecil was born on December 14, 1925, in Richmond, Indiana, the son of Cecil H. Imel, Sr. and Dorothy (McCurdy) Imel. He was a graduate of Portland High School. Cecil owned and operated Portland Ready Mix and Red-N-Ecks Frame Service for many years. He was a veteran of World War II serving in the Army Air Force. He was a member of the Asbury United Methodist Church in Portland, American Legion Post #211 of Portland, 8th Air Force and Jay County Historical Society. Cecil married Esther Fry on May 27, 1949, and she passed away on September 24, 2008.

1 brother: Larry Imel (wife Sandy) - Portland, Indiana
5 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 12 noon at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow at noon at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Tim Dilley will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
