Charles Jackson
June 16, 1936 — July 7, 2015
Charles Jackson, age 79 a resident of Pennville passed away Tuesday, July 7, 2015 at his daughter’s home in Portland. He was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Portland. He was a member of the Portland Morning Optimist Club and a 1954 graduate of Redkey High School. He owned and operated the Redkey Phillips 66 gas station for several years. He was appointed Superintendant of the Jay County Highway Department in the late 70’s and served during the Blizzard of “78”. He then worked as a parts manager for Sheffer-Weinland and also managed the Portland Ready Mix Plant in Portland. He retired from Meshberger Stone in Ridgeville as plant manager.
Charles Jackson was born June 16, 1936 in Portland, Indiana the son of Carl and Inez (Heniscey) Jackson. He was married to Deanna Riddle in 1954 and she passed away in 2012. In 2013 he married Linda Hapner.

1 Step son- David Hapner, Portland, Indiana
2 Step daughters- Diane Votaw (husband-Stan) Ft. Wayne, Indiana
Debbie Wilson (husband-Greg), Muncie, Indiana
7 Grandchildren, 9 Great Grandchildren and 7 Step Grandchildren
Visitation will be held from 5-8pm on Friday in the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday in the funeral home. Earl Doll will officiate the services and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
