Clarisa Ellen Clevenger

Clarisa Ellen Clevenger, age 82, a resident of Ridgeville, passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at IU Health Ball Hospital in Muncie, Indiana.

Clarisa was born October 13, 1941, in Randolph County, the daughter of Simon and Thelma (Swallow) Burton. Clarisa graduated from Ward Jackson High School and attended Ivy Tech. She was a former member of Deerfield United Methodist Church and was a 4-H leader for 14 years for the Lucky Clovers in Randolph County. Clarisa was a Cub Scout and a Webelos leader for several years. She was also a Red Cross volunteer for the Car Seat Loan Program, and a 4-H Judge for several years. Clarisa was a member of the Saratoga Home Economics Club, Cancer Center of Randolph County, Fountain Park Cemetery Lot Owner Association, Wanna-Bee Quilt Club in Winchester, and the Steering Committee. Clarisa loved her family, sewing, painting, cooking, and working with her “best friend” Max in the wood shop. She loved to encourage anyone with her projects through 4-H or other activities.

Clarisa married Max Clevenger on June 15, 1959 he passed away on October 10, 2008.

3 sons: Patrick Clevenger (wife Julie) – Bradenton, Florida

Gregory Clevenger (wife Suzanne) – Ridgeville, Indiana

Marc Clevenger (wife Malynda) – Richmond, Indiana

a daughter: Angela Bechtold – Wolocottville, Indiana

a sisters: Melba Shilling – Knox, Indiana

brother-in-law: Harold Long – Yardley, Pennsylvania

12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10am-1pm at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 1pm at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Fountain Park Cemetery in Winchester.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to 4-H Incorporation of Randolph County or Cancer Services of Randolph County.
