Darren Martin, age 50, a resident of Portland, passed away on Monday, July 16, 2018 at his home in Portland.

Darren was born on November 29. 1967, in Portland, the son of Paul and Lana May (Flintcraft) Martin.  He worked at many factories in Portland through Jay Randolph Developmental Services.  He was very active in Jay County Special Olympics earning many awards as an athlete in golf, bocce ball and basketball.

Survivors include:

His father and step-mother:  Paul and Helen Martin – Portland, Indiana

2 brothers:  Douglas Martin – Berne, Indiana

Nathan Martin (wife Brenda) – Portland, Indiana

several nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Lana and Paul Rolston and 1 brother, Dallas Martin.

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. at Williamson, Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.  Pastor Earl Doll will officiate and burial will follow in the Antioch Cemetery, south of Portland.

Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Special Olympics.
