David Slack

David Slack, age 61, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday, September 5, 2026, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.

David was born on August 29, 1965, in Marion, Indiana, the son of Jimmie and Evelyn (Gray) Slack. He graduated from Jay County High School in 1983 and worked for J&P Custom Plating and FCC in Portland.

David enjoyed woodworking and especially enjoyed spending time working on his projects.

His children: Travis Slack (fiancé Gabrielle Hart) – Portland, Indiana

Megan Slack – Muncie, Indiana

His father: Jimmie Slack – Bryant, Indiana

His sister: Lisa Anderson (husband Steve) – Pennville, Indiana

3 grandchildren: Autumn, Dawson and Sutton

Visitation will be held on Thursday from 3-7 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.

Memorials may be directed to the family in care of Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home to assist with expenses.
