Dean A. Penrod

Dean A. Penrod, age 67, a Portland resident passed away Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne, Indiana.  Dean was a member of the VFW in Portland, and a member of the Portland Eagles.  He worked for Lake’s Garage in Portland, Dean also worked at Standard Brush and Broom in Portland. Dean was a Vietnam veteran in the Unites States Army and served as a mechanic.

Dean A. Penrod was born August 15, 1948 in Greenville, Ohio. The son of Everett and Betty (Shultz) Penrod.  He was married to Jean (Martyne) Penrod in 1979 who passed away on June 1, 2001.

Mother- Betty B. Penrod – Portland, Indiana

Sister- Diana S. Schmidt – Portland, Indiana

1 Step-Daughter- Christy Campbell – Portland, Indiana

4 Step-Sons- Tony Martyne – Portland, Indiana

Dave Martyne – Portland, Indiana

John Martyne – Muncie, Indiana

Matt Martyne – Van Wert, Ohio

1 Nephew 1 Niece 1 Great Niece

Visitation will be held from 10am-12pm on Saturday at Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. A Graveside service will follow at Liber Cemetery with Pastor Steve Arnold officiating. Portland American Legion Post 211 will be in charge of military rights at the cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family to help with funeral expenses.
