Donald Morehous, age 74, a resident of rural Portland, passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis.
Don was born on October 1, 1942, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Walter and Peg (Imel) Morehous. He graduated from Portland High School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army National Guard. He worked for the Portland Forge in Portland, retiring in 2006. He was a member of the CCM Church in Bryant. Don married Cheryl Twigg on December 20, 1968.

Robert Morehous (wife Vivian) – Portland, Indiana
3 sisters: Sharon Shauver (husband Steve) – Salamonia, Indiana
Linda Morehous – Portland, Indiana
Carol Green – Portland, Indiana
10 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Friday from 4-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Dave Peters will officiate and burial will follow in the Salamonia Cemetery in Salamonia, Indiana. The American Legion Post #211 of Portland will conduct military graveside rites.
Memorials may be directed towards the Jay County Cancer Society or the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research.
