Donna Haggenjos, age 68, a resident of Portland, passed away on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at Reid Health in Richmond, Indiana.
Donna was born August 27, 1957, in Rushville, Indiana, the daughter of Richard and Patricia Joyce (Redden) Wilson. She earned her Master’s Degree in History from Ball State University. On September 4, 1982, she married Dr. Mark Haggenjos, sharing 43 years of marriage together.
Donna served as the office manager at Jay Family Practice, her husband’s medical practice in Portland, where she faithfully supported both her family and the community. She was a devoted member of First Presbyterian Church, where she served as a Deacon. Donna also dedicated her time and leadership as a member of the Jay County Public Library Board.
In addition to her professional and community service, Donna was the author of the book, Oaks, The Mighty Tree, a children's tale that takes readers on a personal journey with an oak tree that observes the changing land over many decades.
She is survived by her husband, Dr. Mark Haggenjos; her children, Dr. Lee Haggenjos (wife Stephanie Ruas), Lauren Haggenjos (husband Zachary Watson), and Dr. Liza Haggenjos (Dr. Hashim Ahmed); her brothers, Mark Wilson and Murray Wilson (wife Debbie); and two grandchildren, Rafael and Arturo Haggenjos.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2–5 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. A time to share memories and stories will be held at 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be directed to Arts Place in Portland.
