Donna Snyder

Donna Joan Snyder, age 96, a resident of Portland, passed away Thursday July 11, 2024 at Persimmon Ridge Rehab Center in Portland.

Joan was born July 11, 1928 in Pennville the daughter of Ernie and Mabel (Whetstone) Uptygraft. Joan graduated from Bryant High School in 1946; she worked for Ballastran and Jay Products in Portland and was a member of the Friends Church in Portland.

Joan married Max Snyder on March 5, 1948 he passed away on May 3, 2010

2 daughters: Suzan Snyder – Muncie, Indiana

Gloria Simons (husband Mike) – Portland, Indiana

A grandchild: Ivy Simons (Fiancé Chris Deegan) – Indianapolis, Indiana

3 step grandchildren: Chris Simons (wife Julie) – Indianapolis, Indiana

Amy Long (husband Greg) – Zionsville, Indiana

Eric Simons – Portland, Indiana

A brother in-law: Richard Stoner – Union City, Indiana

She was preceded in death by her 3 sisters Virginia Stoner, Mildred Whitacre, and Doreen Resendez and 3 brothers.

Visitation will be held Tuesday from 12 p.m.to 2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland. Funeral services will be held Tuesday following visitation at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery west of Bryant, Indiana.
