Dorthea Fields

Dorthea P. Fields, age 97, a resident of Portland, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at Swiss Village in Berne.
Dorthea was born on February 17, 1916, in Jay County, the daughter of Christopher and Edith M. (Stroube) Limbert. She worked for Shellers for 10 years and Jim’s IGA. She was a member of the Stitch and Chatter Quilt Club in Portland, Eastern Star and Portland Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She married Charles Fields on July 9, 1952 and he passed away on November 17, 1991.
Survivors include:
2 daughters: Laura Jane Randolph (husband Jimmy) – Portland, Indiana
Janice Plummer – Cleveland, Tennessee
1 step-son: Robert Fields – Mendon, Ohio
8 grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 12 step great-grandchildren
Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Jonathon Edwards will officiate and burial will follow in the Green Park Cemetery in Portland.
