Earl Robert "Bob" Guntle

Earl Robert “Bob” Guntle age 88, a resident of Portland, passed away on Friday, April 28, 2023 at Persimmon Ridge in Portland.

Bob was born July 6, 1934, in Portland, Indiana, the son of Earl and Ethel (Landers) Guntle.  He graduated from Bryant High School in 1953 and worked for Portland Forge, and was a farmer in Jay County.  Bob served in the US Navy and attended Fellowship Baptist Church.  He married Janet Hoskins on November 7, 1953.

His wife- Janet Guntle – Portland, Indiana

2 Daughters- Sandra Atienzo – Portland, Indiana

Mary Beth Kauffman (husband Rick) – Selma, Indiana

1 Son- Robert B. Guntle – Portland, Indiana

2 Brothers Jerry Guntle - Geneva, Indiana

Charles William “Bill” Guntle – Berne, Indiana

13 Grandchildren, 27 Great Grandchildren and 3 Great-Great Grandchildren.

Earl was preceded in death by 2 Daughters Jana Claycomb and Carol Guntle and 3 brothers James, Richard and Donald Guntle.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. at Williamson-Spencer and Penrod Funeral Home in Portland.  Memorial services will follow at 2 p.m. on Tuesday with Pastor Hugh Kelly officiating.  Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery, west of Bryant.
