Edith E. Watkins

Edith E. Watkins age 83, a resident of Pennville, passed away on Friday, August 07, 2015, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie.
Edith was born on January 28, 1932, in Norton, Virginia, the daughter of Noah and Mary (Gibson) Gilley. She worked for Meshberger Stone in Pennville for over 25 years and was a member of the Pennville American Legion Auxiliary. She married Alvan “Short” Watkins on June 28, 1952, and he passed away on March 20, 1981.

Kathy Corwin (husband John) – Pennville, Indiana
2 brothers: Larry Gilley (wife Karen) – Bluffton, Indiana
Harold Gilley (wife Alta) – Washington State
3 sisters: Joan Lawhorn – Crossville, Tennessee
Nadine Ray (husband Bill) – Albany, Indiana
Fay Horn (husband John) – Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina
3 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 step-great grandchildren
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristin Corwin.
Visitation for Edith Watkins will be held on Sunday from 12 noon – 2 p.m. at the Pennville Chapel of the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. at the funeral home in Pennville. Burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.
