Edna L. VanNote, age 79, a former resident of rural Bryant, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at her daughter's home in Elkhart, Indiana.
Edna was born on May 7, 1933, in Pennville, Indiana, the daughter of Chester E. and Fay B. (Shannon) Cline. She graduated from Pennville High School in 1951. Edna worked for Carl Steed and Associates in Portland, May Insurance Agency in Portland and Pennville Custom Cabinets in Portland. She served as a secretary for the DAV in Portland and attended the Macklin Chapel in Bryant and Gospel Lighthouse Church in Portland. Edna married Hansel Reese on August 5, 1967 and he passed away on December 24, 1987. She later married William Edward VanNote on September 18, 1989 and he passed away on September 29, 2012.
Survivors include:
1 daughter: Fayellen Marie Haeck (husband Mark) - Elkhart, Indiana
2 step-sons: Tony W. VanNote (wife Marcie) - Lynn, Indiana
Jerry VanNote (wife Darla) - Winchester, Indiana
1 brother: Gerald Cline - California
5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, several step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one son, Jack Edward "Eddie" Robinette.
Visitation will be held on Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Williamson and Spencer Funeral Home in Portland. Pastor Phil Jellison will officiate and burial will follow in the IOOF Twin Hill Cemetery in Pennville.
Memorials may be directed towards the Alzheimer's Association.
