Elvin L. Phillips, Sr., age 85, a resident of Goodyear, Arizona, passed away on Thursday, November 16, 2012 in Arizona. He was a former resident of Portland.
Elvin was born on June 16, 1927, in Jay County, Indiana, the son of Charles and Lula (Leonhard) Phillips. Elvin attended Portland High School. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II in Germany. He worked for Fruehauf Corporation in Fort Wayne for several years. When living in Portland they were members of the Bluff Point Friends Church. Elvin married Thema Prescott on August 15, 1947.
